[摘要]

阅读理解能力的高低直接影响和制约着一个人的听、说、写几方面的能力的形成和发展。另一方面,阅读也是人们获取信息的一种重要途径,也是人类社会文化交流的一种重要方式。因此,提高学生的阅读理解能力是中学英语教学的主要目标和要求。在中国,越来越多的高中生认为英语考试中阅读理解是最难对付的,然而英语教师和学生投入虽大却收效甚微,体现在学生的阅读理解成绩总是很低,甚至常常突破不了及格这一关。本文旨在通过对高中英语阅读理解方面存在的障碍及成因做出分析研究,从而对症下药提出相应的教学对策,为提高高中生英语阅读理解能力、改善高中英语阅读教学现状提供参考与借鉴。

Abstract:

Reading comprehension directly influences and restriction to listen, speak and write several aspects of the formation and development ability. On the other hand, reading is the most important way for people to get information, and also it is important for people to exchange the cultures. So, the main teaching target of senior middle school is improving the students’ ability of reading comprehension. In China, however, more and more senior middle school students say that it is very hard to do the English reading comprehension questions in the examinations. Although English teachers and students devote themselves to read very much, the achievements of English reading comprehension are not very satisfying, even students can not often pass reading examinations. The main purpose of the thesis is to research the obstacles and their causes of senior students’ reading ability and to suggest corresponding teaching countermeasures. And also it provides reference for increasing senior middle school students’ English reading skill and improving senior English reading teaching’s status quo.

1. Introduction
 In current society, language is still the tool of passing the information, communicating with others and spreading different cultures. And also English is more and more common in present society. It is an important approach to absorb the science and technology achievements from foreign countries. Obviously, the English teaching is becoming more and more important.
 Because we have the poor environment to study English, the English is the foreign language to Chinese learners. In this circumstance, Chinese learners have not enough chances to listen or speak English, so we have to get information through English reading. Therefore, the teaching of English reading is the most important part of English teaching. There have already many professors to analyze and discuss about it. Wang Qiuli, (2005)pointed that the teaching pattern is old and ignore the students’ reading comprehension.Han Xue ,(2009)pointed that the obstacles of the students’ reading comprehension are mainly vocabulary, grammar and culture. In my opinion, I think there are still other obstacles in reading comprehension such as bad habit and no interest.
