Abstract:

Nowadays, the form of multimedia-aided teaching has been widely used in the language teaching methods and has exerted a profound influence in the language teaching methods. Watching English original movies is one of the most effective ways of creating a real foreign circumstance. Classic English movies create a lively language circumstance and express to learners in a relaxing way. The plot of a movie goes up and down, and learners are immersed in it, which could eliminate the anxiety or any other negative emotions that traditional teaching methods used to have. While joining teaching with pleasure, English movies could mobilize all negative factors of students’ motivation of improving their listening comprehension. Learning English by watching English movies, we listen to it in essence rather than just watch it. Learners could understand the meaning of lines by reasoning the development of the story. At the same time, our linguistic sense could be cultivated so that we can understand and use English easily. This paper mainly studies the effects of English original movies could bring in improved listening comprehension and serve as references for using English movies to improve listening comprehension effectively.

近年来,多媒体辅助教学形式已被广泛应用到语言教学当中并产生了深远的影响,而英文原声电影则是创造真实情境的最有效途径之一。经典英文电影创造了真实生动的语言环境,并以轻松愉快的形式向学习者展现试听环境,情节跌宕起伏,学习者沉浸在整个情节中,能消除传统教学一贯存在的焦虑等负面情绪的影响,并寓教于乐,充分调动了学生训练英语听力的积极性。借助电影学英语,表面在看,实质在听。学习者可以通过故事发展的逻辑推理,感觉到台词的意思,潜移默化中,学习者就有了语感,就能轻松听懂英语和运用英语。本文论述了英文原版电影在英语听力中发挥的作用,从而为有效利用英文电影提高听力提供借鉴。

Introduction
    In recent years, with the rapid development of technology, forms of English listening teaching methods with multimedia as a teaching platform are updating constantly. This new teaching method provides our students with various kinds of listening materials in different forms and contexts. Improving listening comprehension via watching English original movies is one of the most effective ways.
    These years, the number of researchers on the ways to improve English listening comprehension via watching original movies has also increased a lot. For example, Ms. Chen Yan published How to improve students’ listening levels by watching English movies in 2005. In this article, Ms. Chen analyzed that English movies have been widely used in the listening teaching method. Moreover, she argues for when using English movies as a teaching method, what should we do as choosing properly movies and preparation. In 2010, Ms Wang lijuan published How to improve College students’ listening levels by watching English movies. In her paper, she analyzed two aspects: to the ways of select suitable movies and watching methods to improve students’ listening levels.
