Abstract
Recent years, New English Curriculum has attached more and more importance to students’ overall language ability, which is impeded by the phenomenon of reticence in English class. This paper starts with the basic conception of class reticence and an overall picture of researches on the English class reticence. Students’ behaviors in current English class are analyzed based on the experience from the author’s internship in senior high school, upon which further analysis on the reasons and feasible solutions is put forward.

摘要
高中英语新课标越来越重视学生的综合语言运用能力,而英语课堂内学生保持沉默的现象严重阻碍了其语言能力的发展。本文介绍了课堂沉默现象的具体含义以及国内外学者对于英语课堂沉默现象的研究状况。通过对高中英语课堂内学生的沉默现象的观察,探索并分析课堂沉默现象的原因,并在此基础上提出相应的解决方法。
