摘要 

英国女作家夏洛蒂·勃朗特的小说《简·爱》流传盛广，而且很多学者都已从女性独立的角度和人物分析的角度来研究这部小说。本文尝试从语言学的合作原则和礼貌原则的角度对其进行会话含义分析，以加深对《简·爱》中人物个性的理解和对作品本身的理解。

本文首先回顾了前人对《简·爱》的研究，再然后介绍了Grice的合作原则和Leech的礼貌原则的含义，为分析《简•爱》中的会话含义和分析说话人的意图提供了理论支撑。

本文引用了大量书中的对话来分析，可以看出小说中人物的语言耐人寻味，别有深意。而且小说中的人物说话时对礼貌因素特别看重，这在他们的对话中很明显就可以看出。作者希望语言学研究视角对《简•爱》进行研究，拓展它的可研究范围，并且希望能对读者理解这本小说有所帮助。
