The Interpretation of A Song of Ice and Fire from  the Perspective of Feminism_英语论文

摘要

乔治.R.R.马丁的《冰与火之歌》可以说是当代奇幻史诗小说的巅峰之作。该小说一改历代奇幻史诗作品以塑造男性英雄为主题并一味边缘化女性角色的惯例,刻画了一大批充满魅力的女性形象,赢得了全世界读者的喜爱。本论文以其中的前四卷为研究对象,尝试以波伏娃的“他者”理论和伍尔芙的“雌雄同体”女性主义理论解读《冰与火之歌》这部以中世纪欧洲父权社会为背景的系列小说的女性主义思想。

Abstract

A Song of Ice and Fire, written by American author George R.R. Martin, is regarded as the summit of epic fantasy novels. This novel has changed the conventions of previous epic fantasy works that focus on building male heroes and marginalizing female characters. It depicts a number of charismatic female characters and wins the popularity of readers around the world. This thesis is intended to take the first four books as the objects of research and it is a feminist interpretation of A Song of Ice and Fire. It explores the underlying feminine power of characters on the theoretical basis of Virginia Woolf’s theory of androgyny and Simone de Beauvoir’s theory of female being “the other”.
