A Study on Political Speech from the Perspective of Thematic Progression Patterns---A Case Study of David Cameron's Speech on Saving Scotland in UK in 2014_英语论文

摘要

基于黄国文的主位推进模式理论，本文利用定性分析来研究卡梅伦在2014年为了挽回苏格兰而发表的演讲。研究结果表明平行型主位推进模式，递进型主位推进模式，集中型主位推进模式这三种主位推进结构更可能出现在政治演讲中，因为这些模式的语序用的是正常的语序。而交叉型主位推进模式，交替型主位推进模式，派生型主位推进模式则比较少用。另外，使用适当的主位推进模式和使用语言策略是演讲者可以传达有效信息的方法之一。

Abstract

Based on Huang Guowen's thematic progression pattern, the thesis is used qualitative method to analyze David Cameron's speech on saving Scotland in UK which is performed in 2014. The findings suggest that parallel thematic progression, linear thematic progression and concentrated thematic progression are likely used in the political speech because of their normal linguistic order. Crossing thematic pattern, alternating thematic progression and derived thematic pattern are using less. And speakers are able to convey message effectively throughout using suitable thematic progression pattern and linguistic strategies.
