    本文主要讨论小说对人性的展示，分析《呼啸山庄》对传统哥特小说的继承与发展，并从女性哥特的角度分析女主角的性格特点和自然环境的哥特特征。论文认为，《呼啸山庄》在传统哥特小说的基础上增添了女性视角的独特细腻性，并展示了女性对自由的呼唤和个性的解放的要求。

Abstract

Emily Bronte is the author of Wuthering Heights, she is a British poet and novelist of the nineteenth century. Her only works Wuthering Heights is a wild passionate story which describes the demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff with full of rich imagination and violent emotions. After it has been published, critics have adopted various methods to study Wuthering Heights. The study and evaluation of its relationship with the tradition of Gothic novels has become hot, and the popularith of female Gothic provides a new perspective. 

The paper mainly discusses human nature in Wuthering Heights, and it explore the inheritance and development of the traditional Gothic novels. A important point in the paper is to analyze the characteristics of the heroine and natural environment from the female Gothic perspective. I argue that Wuthering Heights adds a unique aspect to the development of Female Gothic  on the basis of the traditional Gothic novels, and shows woman’s demands for liberation of individuality.
