Study on E-C Translation of Euphemisms in Obama’s Speeches from the Perspective of Contextual Adaptation_英语论文

摘要

委婉语作为一种语言现象，在演讲中普遍使用，不仅能够表达作者的意图，还可以传递社会意义和文化内涵，给演讲带来独特的语言效果。由于语言和文化差异，尤其是交际中的语境因素，译者在委婉语的翻译上会碰上各种各样的困难。

本文从语境顺应理论的视角出发，以奥巴马演讲为研究对象，探究了委婉语的特征，并探讨委婉语汉译应如何顺应心理世界、社交世界的具体语境，并阐述了适用的直译和意译方法。文章指出，对于演讲中委婉语的英汉翻译，译者要在语境顺应的指导下，充分考虑说话者的心理世界和听众的社交世界，对译入语中存在对等表达的委婉语可采用直译；对译入语找不到对等表达的委婉语可采用意译，为委婉语的汉译翻译提供一个有益的视角。
