Discursive Construction of “the Belt & Road” Initiative in the British and American Mainstream Media 

摘要

语言反映意识形态。本研究借助语料库语言学的理论与方法,,运用语料库检索工具ANTCONC3.2.4,从词频、关键词、搭配词、词丛和语义韵等角度对自建的两个语料库(英美主流媒体有关“一带一路”的话语建构)进行批评分析。研究发现,英美两国主流媒体话语方式,报道风格,倾向性等不完全相同,原因也迥异,以及两国的主流媒体的话语背后隐含的偏见、歧视和话语隐性控制等意识形态问题,

Abstract

Language reflects ideology. Based on the self-built corpora, and by means of ANTCONC3.2.4, and from angles of words frequency, keywords, clusters, collocates and semantic prosody , the paper makes a critical analysis of the news discourse related to “the Belt & Road” Initiative in the British and American mainstream media. The result shows that for different reasons, the British and American mainstream media differ from each other in discourse mode, reporting styles and ideological tendency and that there are prejudice, hegemony and implicit discourse control hidden behind the news discourse.
