摘  要

英语词汇的量大的惊人,然而人们真正能掌握的并没有多少。人们能否正确运用词汇是个重点。特别是在口语交流中,揭露出很多选词和句子结构问题,从而影响交流。由此,对于词汇的重视,首先从教学开始,从初高中学生阶段开始。本文结合前人研究及自己体会,总结一些符合时代发展的词汇教学方法。在研究过程中发现事物是相互联系的,词汇也是如此。可以通过联想法等方法记忆词汇,而不是死记硬背,提高学生学习的兴趣;可以通过理论结合实际的方法运用词汇;可以通过情景教学法给学生以切身体会;可以通过游戏法给学生留下深刻印象。同时,这也是一个开放的研究项目,任何有兴趣的学者都可以提出和使用自己的观点。无论词汇将会发展成什么样,无论还有什么样的研究方法,都是值得探讨的话题。所以,对于词汇教学方法的研究绝不会停留在此。

Abstract

There exists large amount of English vocabulary, but only a little of which can we really grasp actually. The point is that whether we can use it in a right way or not. Especially in oral communication, as we can see, people always make too many errors in diction or sentence structure, which affecting the exchange of ideas. So it is necessary for us to pay attention to the key point——teaching methods of English vocabulary. In this paper, combining previous research with the author’s own experience, the author summarizes some vocabulary teaching methods. Things are interconnected, so does the study of vocabulary. Memorizing vocabulary by association or other methods, rather than rote learning can improve students' interest in learning; integrating theory with practice can promote the use of vocabulary; students can get personal experience through performances and also be impressed through the games. Meanwhile, this is an open-ended topic and everyone who gets interest in it can offer and apply his own methods to teaching and working. No matter what the vocabulary would be like and what other vocabulary teaching methods will be studied, this is a worthy topic.

1 Introduction
Vocabulary is one of the three essential components that constitute language knowledge, and vocabulary teaching is an essential part in English language teaching. Human thinking activity is transferred by words. Human also exchange ideas through words or sentences put together by some words. Vocabulary is important because it allows you to communicate clearly with other people. Taking students for an example, a majority of students can use basic sentences when communicating with others, but it won’t last long.  Sometimes their expressions are easily being misunderstood or they struggle to use body language to describe what they want to say. Listening is also becoming a big problem for the complex words they met.
