[摘  要]

本文从理论上和实践上通过对英语中颜色词语中西文化内涵差异的比较,研究在初中英语课堂中进行文化教学的必要性,同时探讨初中英语教师授课应该采取的有效手段和应坚持的相关教学原则,从而培养符合新课程标准要求的能够正确英语英语进行一定的交际和交流的学生。

Abstract:

For the first place, this paper is intended to theoretically figure out the different meanings of English color words in eastern and western countries to emphasize the importance of cultural teaching in Junior high schools. Then it analyses and proposes the effective methods and principles about what should be carried out by the Junior high school teachers according to the findings of the questionnaire survey. Furthermore, it calls for cultivating students’ communicative competence under the requirements of the New English Curriculum Standards and appeals for culture teaching in junior high school.

1. Introduction
As one of the most significant social phenomenon, culture plays an important role in recording every aspect on people’s lives. Meanwhile, language is widely used as a most significant communicating tool. And it is apparently that culture and language are inseparable. Because language which is carrying out its cultures, is deeply influenced by its culture, the development of history and the group psychology. On the other hand, its culture has inevitably made effects on its language. According to Spair, the linguistic, neither would be completely understood nor accepted without a better understanding of either. In other words, if too enough attentions have been given to language points, such as the speech sounds, vocabulary and syntax, without the understanding of English culture during the study of English, many difficulties will occur if one wants to comprehend the language completely and use it appropriately. In a word, language and culture are related to each other. To acquire one should be based on studying the other.
