摘要

面对各种考试,教师更多的是注意学生之间的竞争。由此,很多学生具有很强的竞争意识而非合作意识。他们不关心其他人更不能合作。因此,很有必要把更多教学中心放在促进学生的合作学习上。合作学习越来越流行并且已经广泛应用于教学中,它是一种以学生为中心的教学方法并且有效促进学生间进行更多的交流。本文对合作学习的基本概况和在英语教学中的重要性进行了详细阐述。通过对小组合作学习的现状分析和其在当今英语课堂上的应用情况,将对合作原则的策略和有效方法进行总结,旨在为英语教师提供有效的教学启示。

Abstract

Facing to various examinations, teachers emphasize competition between students in their teaching. As a result, students have a strong sense of competition rather than the cooperative sense. They will not care about each other; neither help each other nor work together. It is necessary that teacher can change their teaching ways to put more emphasis on students’ cooperation learning. Cooperative learning is becoming an increasingly popular teaching method, what’s more, it has already been put into the English class. It emphasizes student-orientation and students’ communication as a model of teaching and learning. This thesis is going to give a brief introduction to group cooperative learning and the importance of group cooperative learning in English class. By analyzing the current situation of the cooperative learning in English class, the thesis will list the strategies of cooperative learning and the effective methods which have a good effect on English teaching in our country. This thesis aims to provide effective pedagogical implication to English teachers.

1.Introduction
Cooperative learning theory started in America in the 1970s. It made practical improvement in the 1980s. It has been generally accepted in many countries as it is not only to train students’ language using creatively and effectively but also to cultivate their autonomous learning abilities. Teaching should be student-centered and group activities are required, also it should be become the basic teaching form, which meet their needs of personal potential ability and develop their initiative and motivation. Nowadays, many specialists have already realized that by using the cooperative learning method will improve the teaching quality.
One of the three major theories of the new curriculum reform is cooperative learning. A great number of teachers try introducing the cooperative learning   method into class. This thesis analyzes the application of group cooperative learning method in the senior high school English teaching and proves many effective teaching implications.
