Transitivity Analysis of Business Speech: a Case Study of Jack Ma's Speech at the Economic Club of New York_英语论文

摘要

商务演讲作为一种目的性强的语言交际活动，即企业家们在一个特定的环境下，针对其公司或产品，面对广大听众发表意见抒发情感，从而达到与听众达到共鸣并使其行动，是建立良好企业形象并获得更多的支持和信任的方法之一，对企业的发展具有重大意义。本文通过分析语篇的经验意义，并指出在语篇中实现经验意义的几种话语手段，对商务演讲语篇的撰写有一定的指导意义。论文选取马云2015年在纽约经济俱乐部的演讲为例，运用Halliday 的系统功能语言学中的及物性系统对其进行语篇分析，分别从物质过程、关系过程、心理过程、言语过程、行为过程以及存在过程这六个不同类型的过程分析它们在演讲中所起的不同作用，旨在探究不同比重的过程选择对演讲目的和效果达成的意义和影响。

Abstract

Delivering a business speech is a kind of purposeful language communication activity for entrepreneurs to express their opinions and intentions towards the audience in a specific environment, aiming at their companies or products, in order to connect with the audience. It is one of the methods to establish a good corporate image and gain more support and trust, which is of great significance to the development of the enterprise. By analyzing the experiential function and discussing various means of discourse that help to fulfill this function, this paper shall be instructive to the writing of speech discourse. Based on the systemic functional grammar from Halliday, the paper particularly makes a discourse analysis on Jack Ma's Speech at the Economic Club of New York in 2015 from six processes—material processes, relational processes, mental processes, verbal processes, behavioural processes, and existential process, hoping to analyze their roles in the speech and aiming to explore how different proportion of processes contributes to the achievement of the purpose of the speech.
