摘要 

本文从尤金·奈达（Eugene A.Nida）的功能对等理论入手，先阐述功能对等理论的内涵和翻译要求，然后分析英语新闻标题在词汇、句法和修辞层面上的特点及其功能，在功能对等理论的指导下提出几条翻译英语新闻标题的策略，如直译法、意译法、增译法、减译法、运用标点符号法等等，并通过举行说明其可行性。
