摘要

莫言获诺贝尔文学奖，葛浩文的翻译功不可没。随着中国首个诺奖的获得，对莫言及其作品的研究方兴未艾，同时对译者葛浩文及其译文的研究也日渐增多。莫言小说以农村题材为背景，文中使用了大量的习语，艺术性地展现出中国本土文化的复杂内涵。本文以《生死疲劳》中的习语为语料，从词汇和文化两个层面探究其英译本的习语翻译补偿策略。在词汇层面包括增译，概略化，和归化；文化层面有释义，替代和异化三种方法。本文作者期望这一研究可以丰富莫言作品英译研究，可以帮助人们更好的理解习语翻译补偿策略，提高对译文的鉴赏。
