英文和汉语对基本颜色词的分类辨认差别并不大，色彩自身的存在并不因地域或国度的改变而产生差异，但由于历史背景、民族心理、宗教信仰以及文化传统等等的不同，人们对色彩的感受以及颜色词的使用又难免会有不同。本文旨在依据功能对等理论，通过对颜色词涵义在不同语境中更加深入、细化的研究，对该类词汇的翻译进行探讨，对国内的关于颜色词的英译策略提出建设性的意见。
