摘要

模糊性是语言的一种主要特点，除商务信函外，它在语言交流中亦广为应用。商务英语信函在全球贸易交流中起着重要作用，其语言具有标准性和准确性，而又不失礼貌性和灵活性。模糊语言的正确使用有助于商务英语信函语言功能的实现。然而，目前商务英语信函模糊语言的相关研究仍存在大量空白，且系统的教学活动受语料零散的限制，难以进一步发展。本研究基于中国知网和Elsevier网站中的文献资料，就商务英语信函重要性、信函中模糊语言的必要性及其语用功能展开研究。研究语料选取自2009年出版的《国际商贸书信大全》，研究发现在商务英语信函中模糊语言主要有五种语用功能，可助于商务关系的发展及贸易目的的达成。为提升本研究结果的可信度、真实性以及及时性等，本研究采用、分析了近十年超140封商务英语信函，旨在探究商务英语信函中模糊语言的语用功能，并为读者通过使用模糊语言来更好地提升其商务英语信函写作技能提供借鉴。
