摘  要

亚里士多德和纽曼是西方著名的教育学家，尤其在博雅教育的研究上更是领先其他教育学家一大步。亚里士多德和纽曼在小学教育上提出了思想自由和爱的教育，这对后人的教育产生了深远的影响。近代我国小学教育也逐渐更加关注人的教育和知识的拓展。然而大部分的小学仍然固守陈规，依照以前的“灌输法”教学。本文通过对外国教育学家博雅教育思想研究的分析，指出博雅教育在小学英语教学中的渗透及其影响。对于博雅教育的研究可以使教育者了解，在英语课堂中，学生才是主体，教师应该根据不同的学生和不同的课堂内容，改变教学方式，有助于激发学生学习英语的兴趣，更适应学生的发展。

Abstract

Aristotle and Newman are famous western educators, especially in the study of the liberal education. They are a big step ahead of other educators. They put forward the freedom of thought and the education of love in primary school education. This study had a profound impact on the education of future generations. In modern China, people are gradually paying more attention to humanity education and knowledge expanding. However, most of the primary schools are still entrenched in education, in accordance with the previous “instillation method” in English teaching. This paper is based on the analysis of the foreign educators’ liberal arts education thoughts, pointing out the penetration and influence in the primary English class. The research of liberal education can help the educators know that students are the main part in English class. The teachers should change their teaching method according to different students and different class content. It can help students to stimulate their interest in English study, and it is more suitable for students’ development.
