摘 要

电信和互联网技术的发展使人与人的联系方式变得越来越便捷。文字交流从书信便笺到手机屏幕上的短句，变化不仅仅是内容的长短，更出现了语言特征上的异同。如果说上个世纪九十年代博客这种媒体形式的产生标志着网络个人媒体的兴起，那么本世纪初微博客作为一种新兴便捷且更具灵活性的信息载体开始的活跃又将网络个人媒体的发展带向了另一个峰值。传统博客，即时消息和微博客这三者在同时发展和相互影响中各自形成了相异的语言风格。其中，微博客的语言作为另两种媒介的语言中和与创新的产物，有着值得探讨的特殊性。它带有传统博客的公开性，内容需要严谨和明了；同时它也有即时消息对话的私人性，包括富含个人特色的语言风格；另外由于内容长度上的限制， 微博客内容还常带有标签和链接用于补充或扩展信息以便完整传达消息源需要表达的信息。微博客这种语言特征的形成对这种媒介本身来说是非常便利而且自然的，但它对英语语言产生的潜移默化的影响不可忽略。本文将以推特（Twitter）为例讨论微博客语言变化中较传统语言的词汇以及词汇使用变化，最后也会讨论这些变化可能对英语语言造成的影响。

Abstract

Interpersonal connections have become much easier as telecommunication and internet technology development proceeds. Transformation of literal communication styles from paper letter and note to short phrases on mobile phone screen reveals not only the change of message length, but also the alternation of word meaning. If the appearance of weblog in 1990s indicates the rise of personal online media, the uprising microblogging which shows its outstanding convenience and flexibility in early this century leads personal online media to another peak. Traditional blogging, instant message and microblogging have formed their own distinct language style during growth and interaction. Among them, the language of microblogging, which seems to be the hybrid of the other two, has the particularity worth discussion. Microblogging comes with openness as traditional blogging, so its words should be rigorous and clear; Microblogging also includes private content as instant message conversation, so its information may be rich in personal styles. In addition, as the restriction of a single update length, microblog content is always added by tags and links for supplement or expending to fully express the source information. It is certainly easy and natural of the microblogging language feature to form itself. However, the subtle influence it makes to English language can not be treated by ignorance. This paper will focus on the discussion on some changes taken place in microblogging vocabulary comparing with traditional language with examples chosen from twitter. Possible impact that may happen to English language will be discussed too in the final part of the body.
