Abstract:

With the growing of international business activities, there is a growing need for the research of business contract. This paper analyzes the application of synonyms used in business contract by illustrating, classifying and comparison, to show that English business contract has both the features of business English and legal English. Firstly，the definition of business contract will be introduced, and then, some related researches will be reviewed. As following, is the brief analysis of the lexical features of business contract and some principles of application of synonyms in business contracts. At last, the conclusion is made that the proper use of synonyms in English business contracts makes the writing of contracts more rigorous, and improves the development of international business activities.

摘要：

随着现代国际商务活动的日益频繁，当今社会对商务合同的需要越来越迫  切，同时也就对英语商务合同中的行文要求越来越严格。英语商务合同同时具有商务英语和法律英语的特点，本研究拟从英语商务合同中的同义词使用特点入手，来分析其准确性和严密性。从引言入手，简要介绍了商务英语合同的定义，回顾了前人在这方面的相关研究，然后分析了英语商务合同词汇的文体特征，并分析了同义词或词语并列在商务英语合同中的使用原则。最后进行总结，只有更好地了解英语商务合同中更恰当地运用同义词，使行文更加规范严谨，才有可能增加国际商务活动成功率。

1. Introduction
International business activities in all walks of life have been increasingly frequent since China's reform and opening up. So business contract is becoming more and more important.
Business contract is an agreement formally established in accordance with law provisions, and both parties must abide by it in order to determine their respective rights and obligations in the process of business cooperation. In international trade, the content and form of commercial contracts generally be used if both parties have no special requests for the contracted goods.
