Abstract:

Sports play an important role in people’s daily life, because it can contribute to good health and enhance people’s will. Sports are the symbol of social civilization. Thanks to the rapid development of technological communication and mass media, sports have gained more and more attentions from sports fans all over the globe. As a kind of news reports, English sports news has its distinctive features, aiming at catching the attentions of the readers with vivid, authentic and objective words about what happened in the sports events or anecdotes before, during and after the match. Sports News, therefore, becomes an integral part of contemporary newspapers, especially in the western English newspapers.
