Abstract

The Norse mythology originated in the Scandinavian region which exerts a considerable influence on Western culture which is the foundation of the inspiration of the films，the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings. The trilogy is known as a great fantasy work in the history of Western films. Because of personal curiosity and fondness of the remarkable trilogy, the idea of drafting this paper came out.
This thesis attempts to analyze two sources that are the Norse mythology and The Lord of the Rings. By comparing the parts that correspond of the two to make a brief analysis of the Norse mythological archetype in The Lord of the Rings.
This paper consists of three parts. First of all, the author briefly introduces Norse mythology and the representative features of it point to point. In the second part, the author briefly introduces the main actions of the trilogy of The Lords of the Rings at first, then the author respectively analyzes each main figure in The Lord of the Rings trilogy with the archetypal comparative analysis on the counterparts of the Norse mythology. The third part is a conclusion one in which the author mainly sums up the homology that the writer has found between the Norse mythology and the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings, at the same time, the writer demonstrates the innovation and reconstruction which have been made in the Rings.

摘  要

北欧神话发源于斯堪的纳维亚地区，对西方文化产生了较深远的影响。而北欧神话是电影《指环王》三部曲的创作蓝本。电影《指环王》三部曲作为西方电影史上一部极具代表性的魔幻巨著，其上映引起了北欧神话研究的热潮。基于对电影的喜爱以及渴望进一步了解北欧神话的初衷,这篇论文的创作灵感油然而生。
本文主要围绕两个元素展开，即:北欧神话,电影《指环王》三部曲。笔者通过对比电影《指环王》和北欧神话中相互对应的各个元素试图解析电影《指环王》中主要元素的北欧神话原型。
本文共分三个部分。第一章旨在为读者提供背景知识，笔者首先简单介绍了北欧神话；其次对奥丁,北欧矮人等具有代表性的元素进行了逐个描述；最后概括了北欧神话所含主题；第二章是全文的重点，笔者首先介绍了电影《指环王》三部曲的主要情节；之后结合第一章的内容逐个解析电影中主要元素的北欧神话原型；最后总结出电影中所反映的北欧神话主题。第三部分笔者主要总结了电影《指环王》对北欧神话的主题以及主要元素等内容的继承与创新。
