Abstract

Since Internet came into being, human society has undergone profound changes in many fields. Internet changes our life in various ways. Through Internet, we can do many things we have never expected, for example, reading newspapers, listening to radio, watching TV programs and communicating with friends. Internet creates a new way of communication, which changes our traditional ways.
With the booming of Internet, a new type of language—cyber language,comes into being and penetrates into every aspect of our life. Cyber catchwords as the most active part in cyber language have greater influence on our life. Therefore, many scholars and linguists pay attention to cyber catchwords and have carried out extensive researches on it from different perspectives such as semantics, sociology and cognitive science. However, most of their studies focus on one or several aspects of it, systematic research is needed. And as for the study of the psychological reasons for its popularity, it is rare. In this thesis, we attempt to make a comprehensive study of cyber catchwords,particularly its psychological reasons for popularity. It is expected that our study may help people esp. netizens have a better understanding of cyber language and cyber catchwords and conduct internet communication more efficiently.
This thesis consists of three parts. The first part is the background information related to the studies of cyber language and cyber catchwords. The second part is composed of three sections: the development of cyber language, the characteristics of cyber catchwords and the psychological reasons for its popularity. The third part is the conclusion.

摘 要

网络的到来使人类社会发生了巨大的变化。通过网络,我们可以做很多意想不到的事情,比如通过网络看报纸、听广播 、看电视节目以及跟朋友聊天等等。网络给我们营造了新的交流环境,同时也改变了传统的交流方式。
随着网络的兴起,网络语言随之应运而生,并渗透到生活的方方面面,其中最活跃的部分—网络流行语对我们的生活所产生的影响更大。因此,许多专家学者开始从不同角度对网络流行语进行研究。他们或是从语义学角度,或是从社会学角度,也或是从认知科学角度,但他们的研究大都集中在某一个方面或几个方面,缺少系统性,而对其形成的心理原因研究更少。本文试图从心理方面对网络流行语进行研究,以使广大网民对网络流行语的发展、特点以及流行的心理原因有更好的了解。
全文包括三个部分。第一部分是有关网络语言研究的背景。第二部分是探讨网络流行语的发展、特点以及其形成的心理原因。第三部分是对全文的总结。
