作为作家托妮•莫里森最为著名的一部小说，《宠儿》在世界文学史上扮演着重要的角色。在小说《宠儿》中，其整体的艺术特色是值得我们关注的。本文从不同的角度对托妮•莫里森的小说《宠儿》的美学特征进行了研究。这些角度包括荒诞的双重性，象征意象的复杂性以及叙述视角的多重性。本文的写作目的是使读者从多种角度去理解这部经典的文学作品，并帮助我们进行今后相关的研究。

Abstract

As one of the most famous works of Toni Morrison, the novel Beloved plays the indispensable role in the literary world. In the novel Beloved, the overall artistic features are worthy of our attention. This paper aims to study the aesthetic features of Toni Morrison’s novel Beloved from different perspectives. These perspectives include the dual nature of the grotesqueness, the complexity of symbolic image as well as the multiplicity of narrative visions. The writing purpose of this paper tries to make the readers understand this classic literary work from various perspectives and bring the benefits to our following relative researches.

1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the study
As one of the most important writers, Toni Morrison plays the indispensable role in American literature. As a black writer, Toni Morrison gains world-wide reputation as one of the best writers in the history of American literature and she mainly pays attention to the life of the black people. Toni Morrison leaves many famous works to the readers. These works are Beloved, The Bluest Eye, Sula, Song of Solomon, Tar Baby, Jazz as well as Paradise. In these works, Morrison picks up her writing materials from the life of the ordinary black people. Because of these works, Morrison gets the great achievement and wins the Nobel Prize for her “who, in novels characterized by visionary force and poetic import, gives life to an essential aspect of American reality”.
Among all the works of Toni Morrison, Beloved is the most irreplaceable one. As Toni Morrison’s finest works, Beloved has attracted thousands of readers and critics since its publication. This novel takes an infanticide story as its main trend, and deeply exposes the terrible experience which is left by the slavery in the hearts of the black people. In this famous novel, the author Toni Morrison uses various writing techniques to reveal the inner feelings of her heart. With its abundant writing techniques as well as relative whacky plots, the novel Beloved has been considered as a classic work in the present literary world.
