摘　要

英国女作家J•K•罗琳的《哈利•波特》系列小说不仅仅取得了商业上的成功，同时也在文学方面多层次、多角度地映射了当代社会生活。小说中的人物性格刻画生动、极富研究价值，其中许多令人记忆深刻的女性形象更是全书故事展开所不可缺少的元素，值得进一步探讨。本文在深入了解作者的生平经历、创作过程和目的，以及充分研究大量文献资料的基础上，进一步剖析文中不同的女性性格特征、行动背后所反映出的思想认识。本文把小说中虚幻的魔法世界与现实生活对比，进一步探讨现代西方女性的人生观及家庭观，以及女性对世界发展变化的巨大影响，为更好地理解《哈利•波特》系列小说及其文学价值提供参考。

Abstract

    Harry Potter is written by British female writer J. K. Rowling. This series of novels is a commercial and financial success. It also reflects current society and people’s life from several different aspects. People from all over the world have read and studied about J. K. Rowling and her novels. While some articles have been published during the last ten years, there is still a huge gap of female analysis which is extremely valuable and meaningful in literature. In Harry Potter, there are a number of impressive female images that are worth studying. Therefore, the author first studies J. K. Rowling, her process, and her purpose of writing Harry Potter. Next, the author analyzes several important female figures in these novels based on sufficient research and materials. This paper focuses on women’s personalities, actions and the meaning behind these actions in order to understand the female images in these novels and their thoughts. By this method the author could attach the magical world in these books to the real world in our daily life. In addition, the author studies the philosophy and family values of modern western women, and the influence they made to the world. Because of this we can have a clearer view of Harry Potter and its cherished values.

1 Introduction
Harry Potter has been widely liked by people from all over the word since the day it was published. People have read and studied about J. K. Rowling and her novels. A lot of authors care about its commercial value more than its literary value. They study the reason why these books are the best-sellers and what we can learn from the success of both the novels and the movies. But the most important thing is that Harry Potter is a literary output rather than a commercial product. People should study more about these novels’ literal values. There are a large number of aspects which are worth studying, such as the heroism, personal and cultural values, moral values. Some articles have been published during the last ten years, covering certain aspects of literature. But there is still a huge gap of female images analyses.
