1.    Introduction
With the popularity of the vampire culture in the modern city, people pay more attention on the mystery of vampires. Their charm smile and strong power make many females crazy. When I first watched the vampires on TV, I was sacred by their horrible countenance but soon, I was attracted by their unique temperament. In The Vampire Diaries, the vampires Damon and Stefan changed themselves just to protect a human girl Elena from being hurt by any people who intended to kill her. Gradually, I fell in love with vampire stories. And I want to know how vampires emerged in the world and why they are so prevalent in modern films and programs. Today, vampire is not only a simple body but a sign of culture in western countries especially in America. It is the curiosity that drives me to study the vampire books and step in a brand-new field where vampire is no longer a secret. I believe that vampire culture can to some extent represent western culture well as they were created by our ancestors, and the development of vampire actually reflects the development of western history. Anyone who read the vampire books can get further understanding of certain period. So I say that vampire is not only a touchable culture, it blends in people’s feelings to the society.
