Difficulties in Chinese Characters Learning by Oversea Students_英语论文

摘要

随着全球化的发展,越来越多的留学生到中国学习汉字。本研究采用问卷法和面对面访谈法进行。研究通过问卷调查了江苏大学40名在校留学生的汉字学习情况,并随机抽取了两名留学生进行了访谈。对于留学生来说,即使他们对汉字很感兴趣,中国和外国在教育、社会和文化背景上的差异可能是他们对学习汉字持畏难心理的原因之一。研究结果显示,留学生虽然对汉字学习比较感兴趣,但还是存在畏难心理。调查发现,留学生汉字学习困难的主要原因在于留学生在学习汉字的部首、声母、韵母和同音异议字时面临了较大困难。最后,本文针对留学生及教育工作者提出了一些切实可行的建议。

Abstract

With the development of globalization, more and more oversea students come to study Chinese characters in China. In this study, questionnaires and face-to-face interview are used to investigate the Chinese character learning by 40 oversea students in Jiangsu University, and two of them are randomly selected for interview. For oversea students, differences in education, social and cultural background between Chinese and foreign may be a reason for why they have fear of difficulties in learning Chinese characters even if they are interested in it. The results of investigation show that the main reason for oversea students’ problems in learning Chinese characters is the difficulties faced by them in learning Chinese characters’ radicals, initials, vowels and homophones. Finally, this paper puts forward some feasible advice for oversea students and educators.
