摘要 

美国华裔女作家谭恩美的处女作《喜福会》描述了四对母女的关系从冲突、隔阂走向理解、认同的过程。然而母女的冲突不仅仅是由于代沟的问题，更多的是中美文化冲突的体现。中美文化之间存在明显的差异，因此文化冲突也是不可避免的。世界正在进入一个“文明冲突”的历史时期，而我们仍然面对着文化冲突的问题。在全球化、多元文化发展的进程中，异质文化的碰撞和交流是无法避免的。

本文采取定性分析的研究方法，选取谭恩美的《喜福会》作为案例，从跨文化以及顺应论的角度出发，探析中美文化之间的冲突与融合。研究发现：中美文化一直处于不断的交流融合之中，面对不同的文化，我们要采取理解、沟通与信任的态度，要用尊重的态度看待不同的文化。
