摘要 

女性主义发展于西方国家。随着女性主义的快速发展，对女性主义的研究逐渐扩展到语言文学与翻译中，二十世纪六七十年代文化转向时期出现了女性主义翻译理论。女性主义翻译理论与传统翻译理论不同，其主张在翻译研究与实践中消除对女性的歧视，再定义原文和译文的关系，并在必要时适当釆取 “前言和脚注”, “增补” 和 “劫持” 等翻译策略，为翻译研究提供了新的视角。由于文化背景不同，中国女性主义翻译理论的发展与西方女性主义翻译理论的发展也有所不同，采取的翻译策略也大相径庭。本文以女性主义翻译理论为理论指导，通过分析法、举例法对哈代的小说《苔丝》的两个中译本（张谷若和黄健人译）中的人物肖像描写的翻译、行为动作描写的翻译、语言描写的翻译、情感描写的翻译以及选词造句的翻译进行对比分析，得出女性译者在翻译中更多使用 “增补” 策略，用词更加突出女性特征，使小说中人物形象更加丰满。女性译者相比于男性译者能够更好的体会作品中女主人公的思想情感与经历，从而更好地表达原作意图。
