摘 要

自中国加入世界贸易组织以来,国内与国外的经济贸易合作越来越频繁。由于各国的文化不同,随之而来的是人们之间的交际能力也显得很重要。本文主要研究跨文化交际能力在中美商务谈判中的作用,从东西文化差异、文化和沟通(有效沟通)、商业礼仪和社会规范、中美两国人的思维方式,文化冲突(如何应对)、跨文化谈判、文化和全球化等多个方面分析比较出跨文化能力的重要性,提升跨文化交际能力,有助于商务关系的建立以及商务沟通和业务往来。

Abstract

   Since China entered the WTO, domestic and foreign Economic and Trade  cooperation are more frequent. As different countries have different culture, the communicating ability is obviously important among different people. The thesis mainly talks about the functions of abilities of intercultural communication in Chinese and American business negotiations. From the cultural differences between the East and the West, culture and communication (effective communication), business etiquette and social norms, contrast of people’s way of thinking, cultural conflicts (how to deal with), cross cultural negotiation, cultural globalization and so on, the paper aims to enhance  abilities of intercultural communication. It is very effective for establishment of business relationship and business negotiation and contact.

1 Introduction
    This paper mainly talks about the functions of abilities of intercultural communication in Chinese and American business negotiations.
    Cross-cultural communication ability refers to communication among people who have different cultural background during communication ability development. Hence, it is necessary to comprehend the communication ability.
Communication is the process between people in which people use it to send information and receive information. It includes mother tongue and foreign language to communicate. When one uses foreign language to communicate, it is easy to cause misunderstanding or communicating conflict as the different cultural background during communicating. In 1970’s American linguist Dell Hymes came up with communicative competence, including grammar, suitability, appropriateness and operability. Based on that, Canale and Swain divided the communicative competence into four parts: separate language competence, social language competence, textual competence and communicative strategies competence.
