摘要

虽然美国宣告诞生仅有短短的300多年，但自18世纪70年代以来，其经济一直高居全球第一。当然，美国成为世界强国不仅仅只在于其领先的经济地位，还有其先进的科研能力和军事装备等。得到如此成就主要的动力来源于美国精神。
目前，美剧和美国电影越来越受到年轻人的追捧，虽非完全的写实，但是从中也能展现美国人的生活习性和思想观念。其中，自立进取精神对于推动美国历史进程有着及其明显的作用。那怎样从中以小见大，结合实际以深入剖析美国人自立进取的精神呢？
本文以相关的美国精神方面的研究为背景，先介绍自立进取精神的定义与特征；再以电影“歌舞青春”和电视连续剧“绯闻女孩”为引线，从青少年的观点出发具体分析剧情并结合现在美国青少年的成长现状，揭示自立进取精神的重要性；最后根据美国发展现状，进一步深入从经济、文化和教育三方面分析自立进取精神在美国的体现。
本文不仅是对美国自立进取精神重要作用的升华，更重要的是从一个新的角度以小见大，并结合实际做出分析，以扩展自立进取在美国发展中的意义。

ABSTRACT

Although it is only more than 300 years since the United States declared its independence, American economy has always been first all over the world since 1870s. Of course, for the United States, being great power not only depends on its leading economy status, but also depends on its advanced research, military equipment and so on. The main motivation of making such great achievements comes from American spirit. At present, American TV series and movies are more and more popular among youngsters. Although these are not complete verity, they can still reflect the living habit and thinking concepts of American people. Besides, the spirit of self-aggressive has obvious effect for promoting the development of American history. However, how to analysis the self-aggressive spirit in depth and get the big picture from small details remains a question.
This thesis employs related study on American spirit as background. Firstly, it introduces the definition and characteristics of the self-aggressive spirit. Secondly, it sets High School Musical and Gossip Girl as trace, analyzes the plot from teenagers’ point of view and combines with current growing status of American teenagers. Thus it reveals the
importance of the self-aggressive spirit. At last, according to the current developing status of the United States, it analyzes how the self-aggressive spirit embodies in economic, cultural and educational aspects.
This thesis not only sublimates the topic on the important effect of the self-aggressive
spirit, what is more important is that it combines with reality to analyze and extend the
significance of the self-aggressive spirit in American development from a new point of
view.
