摘  要

英语套语是在长期的语言交流过程中形成的程式化或现成的语言材料，在外贸函电写作中起着相当重要的作用。在效率当前的经济时代，外贸函电的往来也要求极具效率。本文论述了英语套语的特点及语用功能，英语套语与外贸函电的写作原则及套语体现外贸函电的不同功能。一些国内外专家和学者对英语套语在外贸函电中的应用进行了研究，其研究主要将焦点放在对英语套语的翻译理解上。本文将对英语套语的语用功能进行分析，旨在强调在外贸函电的写作中，掌握并恰如其分的运用套语有助于促使交易成功。作者从互联网、书籍等媒介上搜集资料，发现大多数的外贸函电中都含有套语。所以，作者从中选出了经典且具有代表性的案例来进行深层次地分析。

Abstract

English formula is also known as formulaic language, which is formed in the long process of communicative fixed or formulaic language practice. It also can be defined a stylized or ready-made material. As we can see, English formula plays an important role in the writing of foreign trade correspondence. Due to the rapid development of current economy, business correspondence is also highly efficient. This article will discuss the features of English formula, pragmatic functions and principles of using English formula in foreign trade correspondence. It makes us realize the importance of the English formula’s using in the foreign trade correspondence. Many domestic and international experts and scholars have held researches on the English formula in foreign trade correspondence, paying more attention to the understanding of English formula’s translation. This paper will analyze the features and pragmatic functions of English formula, so that we can master the appropriate methods to use it. We should pay more attention to the writing of foreign trade correspondence, because it will contribute to the successful trading. The author selects information from the media such as the Internet, books and so on, discovering that most of them are with English formula. As a consequence, the author will make a deep analysis on the most classical and representative cases among these advertisements.
