Lin Daiyu was fostered by her grandmother because of her mother’s death. However, owing to her long time illness and her foster life, Daiyu is much more sensitive than the other girls in the Rongguo House. Unfortunately, she had no father or brothers to arrange her marriage issue on her behalf; she could not get married with Baoyu the man who she loved.
