摘要

林语堂创作的英文原著《京华烟云》，是向世界介绍中国文化的成功典范，小说描写了北京三个大家族从义和团运动到抗日战争爆发这三十多年的变化。本文以该小说作为研究对象，着重研究林语堂如何灵活运用异化和归化的翻译原则来处理中国文化负载词的表达。通过分析生态文化、物质文化、社会文化、宗教文化和语言文化五个方面中国文化负载词的表达，本文将探讨林语堂在《京华烟云》中所采取的文化翻译策略。分析结果表明：在处理中国文化负载词的翻译时，林语堂主要采用直译、音译等异化的翻译方法，并灵活运用置换、意译等归化的翻译方法。

通过分析林语堂在《京华烟云》中对异化和归化翻译的灵活运用，作者期望为促进中西文化的平等对话，更好地向世界介绍中国文化提供思路。
