On the Translation of Culture-Loaded Words Based on Cultural Translation Theory——A case study of Lin Yutang’s Translation of Six Chapters of A Floating Life_英语论文

摘要

文化派代表苏珊·巴斯奈特曾指出翻译不仅是语言的转换，更是文化的交流。在翻译文化因素时，译者能否正确处理两种最常用的策略—异化和归化之间的关系往往直接影响译文的质量。本文以中国古典文学《浮生六记》林语堂英译本为研究对象，从巴斯奈特文化翻译理论的视角浅析文化负载词的翻译策略，通过典例分析得出：在翻译文化词汇时采用异化为主，归化为辅的策略，而非视其为二元对立的关系，能够更好地保留中国文化特色，进而达到传播中国文化之目的。
