摘要

问候语在人类国际交流中起着非常重要的作用。不同语言，不同文化背景下的问候语存在着巨大差异。英汉问候语在一定程度上折射出中西方形态各异的社会文化背景，反映出不同的社会心理状态和语言文化内涵。因此，为了增加不同文化背景下人们之间的相互理解，达到和平共处，避免冒犯，学习和掌握英汉问候语的差异是十分必要的。本文通过分析问候语的社会功能和使用,探讨中英两种语言问候语的文化差异,指出不同的文化背景、不同的思维模式、不同的价值观对语言使用的影响。
