摘要 

随着女性主义运动的发展中外文学史上涌现出一批具有女性主义意识的优秀作家。中国作家霍达（1945-）与澳大利亚作家考琳麦卡洛（1937-2015）是中外女性作家的代表，她们各自的代表作《穆斯林的葬礼》和《荆棘鸟》也都受到了全世界广泛的关注，在文学史上产生了广泛而深远的影响两位作家生活、成长在完全不同的国家和文化背景下，但由于女性共同的情感使然和社会共同的发展规律，使她们的作品都闪现着女性主义文学思想和女性意识的觉醒。

本论文在分析霍达和麦卡洛现有资料的基础上，以《穆斯林的葬礼》和《荆棘鸟》中的女性意识为研究对象，结合女性主义理论，运用比较文学的平行研究方法，对两部著名小说进行细致的文本解读，力求比较系统深入地研究不同国度女性意识的觉醒和成熟，从而发现二者在表现女性意识方面的异同，以期给现代女性一些启迪。
