摘要
 

反语作为一种智慧诙谐的语言现象存在于生活的各个角落,在人类日常交往中起着举足轻重的作用。由于它的重要性和普遍性,越来越多的学者开始关注这种语言现象。虽然取得了一定的成就,但是仍然没有取得另人满意的效果。本文以顺应论为理论框架，通过对美剧《生活大爆炸》中反语例子的分析，探讨反语生成和理解的机制及其语用功能，从而为英语学习和英语教学提供一些借鉴。

Abstract

As an intelligent and witty language phenomenon, irony exists in every corner of life and plays a decisive role in human's daily communication. Because of its importance and universality, more and more scholars begin to pay attention to this phenomenon. It has made some achievements, but still has not achieved satisfying effect. Based on the Adaptation Theory, this thesis aims to investigate the mechanism of producing, comprehending and pragmatic functions of irony, through the analysis of the examples of irony in TV series The Big Bang Theory, so as to provide some reference for English learning and teaching.
