A Contrastive Study between American Dream and China Dream: Based on the Discourse Analysis of Relevant Classical Documents

摘要

“梦”是一个国家、一个民族的有识之士（包括国家领袖）在国家民族进步和发展过程中为国家和民族设计的理想社会，是在意识形态方面的顶层设计，也是一个民族不懈追求的理想和目标。“中国梦”和“美国梦”不仅以物化的形式存在于两个民族发展的历史进程之中，也以文字表述的形式存在于两国不同时期仁人志士的言论和领导人讲话或著作之中。本研究通过对自华盛顿以来历届总统、中华人民共和国历届主要领导人的重要讲话等经典文献的文本细读，并引述自老子、孔子、孟子等关于理想社会的论述至孙中山先生的《建国方略》为止的大量经典文献，参考托马斯·莫尔的《乌托邦》、空想社会主义代表人物的设想和马克思、恩格斯关于共产主义社会的描述”等西方社会理想社会的蓝图，通过对中英文经典文献的爬梳，结合两个国家的历史文化因素，在文本分析的基础上探究“中国梦”和“美国梦”的异同。

Abstract

DREAM is an analogy to indicate the ideal society designed by the men of insight in a country or nation (including generations of leaders of the nation) in the process of its evolution and development. It is the top-level design in ideology as well as an ideal and aim a nation has being pursued constantly and persistently. China Dream and American Dream have being existed not only in a materialized form of in the historical process of its development but also in the classical documents as speeches and works by the men of insight and national leaders in writing form. Based on the combing of Chinese and English classical documents throughout history and through the analysis of the social cultural elements of both countries, the present study of ours probes the similarities and differences between China Dream and American Dream.
