英文诗歌翻译在西方文化传入中国的过程中扮演着重要角色，对国内读者学习英语、丰富文学内涵、提高自我修养具有重要意义。本文结合许渊冲的三美论，从不同角度对比叶芝诗歌《当你老了》的不同译本，详细分析各译本中对原作意美、音美、形美的展现程度。期间我们将着重探讨诗歌翻译的特点及其本质，在三美论的基础上，我们得出诗歌翻译不仅仅是简单的文字句型之间的转换，更是一种文学再创，也是原作者、译者及读者三者之间的交流互动以及共同创作的过程。
