中国大学英语课堂沉默现象分析_英语论文

An Analysis of Silence in English Classrooms of a Chinese University

摘要

随着我国经济的不断发展,英语已经成为了我国在国际舞台上交流的重要工具。作为新一代的大学生,学习英语,加强口语能力的训练,更是一项必不可少的任务。然而,课堂沉默现象却成了中国大学英语课堂的一个显著特征,学生在课堂上很少主动参与,久而久之,学生的语言能力得不到提高。通过国内外对课堂沉默的对比研究,我们不难发现国外相关研究要比国内多的多,因此,对于中国大学英语课堂沉默现象做出进一步的调查和研究是很有必要的。本文通过对大学英语课堂观察,问卷调查以及采访的调查手段,分析大学英语课堂沉默现象的主要因素,通过对这些因素的分析,归纳,总结,以为缓解英语课堂沉默现象为目的,为学院的英语老师在进行英语教学设计时提供参考。

Abstract

With the economic development of our country, English has become an important tool for our country in the international communication. As new generation university students, leaning English and improve oral English are necessary tasks for us to take. However, Chinese students’ silence in English classrooms is an outstanding characteristic. Students are reluctant to take part in activities in English Class, as time passes, the students’ language competence can’t be improved. Through comparing the previous studies on silence abroad and at home, it is obvious that there are more researches abroad than in China. Therefore, further studies on silence in China is very necessary. The thesis takes university for example, questionnaire, interview and classroom observation are used for investigation to find out the main causes of classroom silence in Chinese university. By analyzing and summarizing these main factors, and give teachers reference to change the silent phenomenon in English class.
