《控方证人》中的模糊语研究_英语论文

A Study of Vague Language in Witness for the Prosecution

摘要

模糊语，作为在英语当中经常出现的语言现象，同时也是自然语言的内在属性。它的应用已经渗透到所有的日常交际中，在人类的交际中扮演着重要的角色。从上世纪六七十年代开始，国内外很多学者就开始从语用学理论合作原则、顺应论、礼貌原则等语用角度分析模糊语。但是，纵观国内外研究状况，从语用学理论目的原则角度探讨交际中的模糊语的研究还比较少。因此本文在吸收前人的研究成果的基础上，以电影《控方证人》中的人物对话为分析实例，全面阐释电影会话中的模糊语是怎样被用来表达某种特定交际目的的，同时模糊语的语用功能也得到了很好的分析。

Abstract

Linguistic vagueness, as a common language phenomenon, is an inherent attribute of natural language as well. Vague language forms a considerable part of language in communication and it plays an important role in human’s life. From 1960s, many national and foreign scholars started to do research on vague language from the perspective of pragmatics which involves Cooperative Principle, Politeness Principle, Relevance Theory and Adaptation Theory and so on. However, few people study it from the perspective of principle of Goal-direction. This thesis will analyze vague language in the conversation of Witness for the Prosecution with the principle of Goal-direction to illustrate how communication goal is realized and the pragmatic functions of vague language are also explored.
