A Comparative Study of Two Chinese Translation Versions of Stray Birds

摘要

功能翻译理论明确了诗歌翻译的目的以及具体的翻译原则和方法，有利于解决诗歌翻译中形似与神似的矛盾，因此对诗歌翻译有着很大的借鉴意义。本文旨在论述功能翻译理论对诗歌翻译的研究价值,并论证功能翻译理论在《飞鸟集》翻译中的应用。本文共分为五个部分。第一章为引言部分，主要论述论文的研究背景和意义以及诗歌翻译现存的一些问题。第二章是理论框架部分，是论文研究的理论基础，主要论述赖斯的文本类型理论和汉斯威密尔的翻译目的论。第三章是论述选取郑振铎和陆晋德《飞鸟集》翻译版本作为研究对象的原因，以及郑振铎和陆晋德翻译《飞鸟集》的目的分析。第四章是论文的核心部分，运用德国功能翻译理论从文本类型，翻译目的，翻译方法方面分析德国功能翻译理论在《飞鸟集》翻译中的应用。第五章结语部分对论文进行了总结。

Abstract

The functional translation theory makes the purpose of poem translation clear and defines the specific translation principles and methods, and it is also beneficial to resolve the contradiction between the spiritual resemblance and formal resemblance of poem translation, so it has a great reference meaning to the poem translation. This paper is aimed at discussing the value of functional translation theory in poem translation, and it also demonstrate the application of functional translation theory in the translation of Stray Birds. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, mainly discusses the research background and significance of the paper and some existing problems in poem translation. The second part is the introduction of theories, which is the theoretical basis of the paper. It mainly discusses Reiss’s text typogy theory and Hans Vermeer’s Skopos theory. The third part is about the reasons for choosing Zheng Zhenduo’s and Lu Jinde’s translation versions of Stray Birds as the object of study in this paper, and analyzes the translation purposes of Zheng Zhenduo and Lu Jinde. The fourth part is the core of this paper. From the perspective of functional translation theory, including Reiss’s text typology theory, Vermeer’s Skopos theory, the two versions of translation are compared and analyzed so as to demonstrate the effects of different objectives and methods on the translation of Stray Birds. The fifth part summarizes the paper.
