从功能对等角度看《金色笔记》的翻译_英语论文

On Translation of The Golden Notebook From the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory 

摘要

小说《金色笔记》是英国女作家多丽丝·莱辛的经典代表作,具有较高文学价值,在世界范围内广为流传,中国也不例外。《金色笔记》有多个中译版本,而其中陈才宇和刘新民合译的版本颇具代表性,较为经典。本文将从奈达提出的功能对等这一翻译理论出发,以莱辛《金色笔记》英文原著和陈才宇、刘新民的汉译本为研究对象,根据作者和译者各自的风格、文化背景等,从词意对等、句意对等、篇章对等这三个方面着手,通过列举具体的翻译例子,进行原著和译文的比较,分析译文和原著在表意、风格、读者反应等方面的异同,发现译本翻译的妙处与缺点,旨在为类似文本的翻译提供翻译参考。

Abstract

The Golden Notebook is a classic master work of the English authoress Doris Lessing. With high literature value, this novel has been widely spread among the world and China makes no exception. There are many Chinese versions of The Golden Notebook among which Chen Caiyu and Liu Xinmin’s co-translation is a typical and classic one. This study, based on Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory and taking the original English novel and Chen’s Chinese translation as the data, will take cultural background and translator’s style into consideration, focus on the lexical equivalence, syntactic equivalence and textual feature equivalence, compare similarities and differences of meaning, style, reader responses between the original and the translation with specific examples so as to observe and study the beauty as well as shortcomings of Chen’s version, offering translation reference for similar textual translation.
