A Brief Analysis of Different Marital Views in Pride and Prejudice from the Perspective of Feminism

摘要

简•奥斯汀尽管一生未嫁，但她的绝大多数作品却致力于探讨婚姻关系。在《傲慢与偏见》中，她更是倾尽笔墨着力刻画了几种不同的爱情和婚姻关系，阐述了其独特的爱情和婚姻理念，如：柯林斯和夏洛蒂金钱之爱，莉迪亚和威克姆的情欲之爱，简和宾利的传统之爱，伊莉莎白和达西的真情之爱。

本文将从女性主义视野出发，通过分析《傲慢与偏见》所体现出来的女性的处境和地位、女性主义意识的觉醒以及主人公在爱情婚姻中所表现出来的女性主义，分析书中的四种爱情。从而判断出这四种爱最终导致的婚姻幸福度大不相同。在这四种婚姻关系中，只有伊莉莎白和达西的关系，是作者理想中的婚姻模式。

本文旨在通过对文学作品的解读，帮助人们了解 18、19世纪西方的社会婚恋观, 更好地理解这部小说。

ABSTRACT

Jane Austen never gets married, but vast majority of her works are devoted to exploring marital relations. In Pride and Prejudice, she vividly portrayed several different types of love and marriage: Collins and Charlotte's marriage without love, but for money, Lydia and Wickham's marriage without love, but for lust, Jane and Bingley's traditional marriage with love, as well as Elizabeth and Darcy's ideal marriage with love. Jane expounded her unique concept of love and marriage.

From the perspective of feminism, this study aims at analyzing the four types of marriage in this book through the analysis of the situation and status of women, as well as the awakening of feminist consciousness embodied in Pride and Prejudice. So it can be concluded that the degrees of marital happiness resulted by the four types of love are totally different. In the four kinds of marriage relationships, only the relationship between Elisabeth and Darcy is considered ideal marriage model.

Through the interpretation of this novel, this study aims to help people know well about the marital views in eighteenth-and-nineteenth-century Britain and understand this novel better.
