Abstract:

With the rapid development of economic globalization and China’s reform and opening-up, the economic activities between China and other countries become increasingly frequent. In the process of exploring international markets, Chinese enterprises have been conscious of the importance of investment-inviting and promotional text translation. Well translated investment-inviting and promotional texts contribute to the good reputation of an enterprise and help to attract more investors and partners. On the contrary, they may give a bad impression for the potential clients and bring invisible losses to enterprises. In view of the big differences between Chinese and English, not only at linguistic level but also at cultural level, the translators are confronted with lots of difficulties when translating this kind of texts.
Therefore, this paper takes the translation of enterprise investment-inviting and promotional texts as the study object. It mainly probes into the differences between Chinese and English enterprise promotional texts respectively at the linguistic and cultural level. And then the common translation difficulties are summarized through the comparative analysis. In a word, this paper attempts to discuss these difficulties and offer some translation strategies to translators, in the hope of enhancing the quality of enterprise investment-inviting and promotional text translation.

摘要:

随着经济全球化的迅速发展和中国改革开放的不断深入,中国与其他国家的经济交往愈加频繁。在开拓国际市场的过程中,企业招商引资宣传文本的翻译质量至关重要。良好的宣传资料有利于企业树立良好的商业形象,吸引更多投资者和合作伙伴。而翻译不当的宣传资料容易给潜在客户留下不好的印象,给企业带来无形的损失。但由于中英两种语言的不同和中西方文化的差异,使得译者在翻译时面临着诸多困难。
因此,本文把企业招商引资宣传文本英译作为研究对象,强调企业招商引资宣传文本翻译研究的重要性。主要从语言和文化层次探讨中西方企业招商引资宣传文本的不同之处,进而在典型译文的基础上,对比分析,并总结出企业宣传文本翻译中的常见难点。最后,针对这些难点,提出相关的翻译策略,并得出自己的结论,以求提高企业招商引资宣传文本的翻译质量。

Introduction
Since the implementation of reform and opening-up, especially since its entry into the World Trade Organization, China has been accelerating its pace in the economic exchanges between other countries. As the principal part of economic activities, enterprises earnestly hope for attracting more foreign investment and take advantage of global resources. Moreover, the foreign publicity is the premise of attracting investors and partners for Chinese enterprises. Well translated enterprise investment-inviting and promotional texts will not only help enterprises to achieve good reputation, but also contribute to commercial interests.
