On Language Features of Idioms in English Films and Televisions 

摘要

现如今随着自媒体时代的来临，电影行业发展极为迅速，影视作品的广泛传播逐渐取缔了传统的文化交流方式，人们可以从影视作品中足不出户地了解国内外的大事小事，因此当今社会电影的流行给人们带来了诸多福利。英文电影融入了文学，音乐，戏剧等艺术形式，在对英文影视作品的研究中我们发现，多数影片中运用了大量习语，世界上凡是历史比较悠久的语言都包含大量习语，英汉两种语言都是如此。对于习语来说，它具有以下特点：简洁性，生动性，比喻性和流行性。电影就是要大众化，通俗化，因为观众一般能接受的是清楚明了，通俗简洁的语言而不喜欢太过典雅具有艺术性的表达方式。太过死板的语言会让观众觉得索然无味。因此，通俗易懂，简洁明了的习语在电影传播过程中便发挥了重要作用。本文主要内容便是从英文影片中习语的使用情况来研究其语言特点，使人们更好地理解和掌握习语的使用，这样不但有助于人们更好的欣赏影片，使中西方文化差异不再成为学习外语的障碍，并且对于语言和文化的相互关系也可以起到很好的促进作用，这对于我们的外语学习是有很大帮助作用的。

Abstract

With the rapid development of modern films and televisions programs, the films gradually replace the traditional literary form and become an important means of cross-cultural communication. It plays an important role like a bridge in the process of intercourse between ethnic groups. English movie integrates literature, music, drama and some other things. In the process of watching English films, we found a large number of idioms in them. The language which has long history all contains lots of idioms, both English and Chinese are like that. Idioms have the following characteristics:  the first is simplicity, the second is vitality, the third is the feature of National history, then is the feature of Culture and Art, the last is the popularity and conciseness. The films should be easy for people to understand, it need to cater to the public because the audiences are prefer to accept the clear language rather than to accept too elegant language. We all know the rigid language will make the audience feel vapid. Therefore, the simple and clear idioms play an important role in the process of films transmission. The main content of this paper is to analyze the linguistic features through the use of idioms in English films, and then to make people have an in-depth understanding. On the one hand, It can help people to enjoy the movie better and let them have interest on learning English. On the other hand, it also can promote the relationship between language and culture. It has very important significance in language learning.
